That was....intense. I was pretty nervous and asked a ton of questions/concerns beforehand, so much so that my Dr jokingly told me I need to stop reading internet forums (lol). She was very patient and went over the whole process with me, showing me all the tools she'll be using and she showed me the actual Paragard (a lot smaller than I thought!). Insertion was pretty painful, but only for 2-3 minutes. They used an ultrasound to make sure it was placed properly and it was pretty neat seeing it inside of my uterus on the screen. She told me that she cuts the strings long enough so they'll curl around my cervix and not be pokey when they soften. I had death cramps the rest of the evening, but this morning I feel almost nothing! I'm bleeding a little bit, just slightly more than spotting. My only minor concern is, I can feel a string just by inserting a fingertip, its so far down. I'm thinking maybe my cervix is pretty low right now, because of the insertion? I'm not going to worry about it too much, I'll give it a week or so and check things out again. But overall, insertion wasn't too bad and I'm hoping things work out for me and my little Paragard!
