Abdominal pain and swollen lymph nodes

Hello all,

I just got a Mirena inserted six days ago. Insertion itself was a breeze, with some painful cramping immediately following.

A few days later, I had some abdominal cramping that may have been caused by something else, or might be IUD-related. Last night, I noticed that one of my inguinal lymph nodes is painfully and noticeably swollen, on my right side only. A quick google search tells me that there are other women who've experienced swollen lymph nodes following Mirena insertion.

I'll be calling my gynecologist tomorrow morning, but I'm wondering if any of you have experienced either problem (the abdominal--not pelvic--cramping, or the swollen lymph nodes) following IUD insertion and whether it resolved, or whether the IUD needed to be removed. I'm hoping to keep my Mirena and want it to work out, but I also don't want to be in pain, and I'm not sure why it would cause a swollen lymph node.

I've never had kids and was on the pill for about a year and a half prior to insertion. I haven't had any bleeding other than immediately following insertion, and there's no sign of puss or infection.

Question about IUD expulsion?

I'm about a week and a half into my Skyla insertion. The nurse told me that I am at greatest risk for IUD expulsion during the first month. I check the string every couple of days to reassure myself, and things have been okay. I was just wondering if the IUD fell out, would I notice? Or could the IUD fall out without me even knowing? Are there any noticeable signs if the IUD fell out?

Thank you!
