Question about infections with IUD

Hi ladies!
I'm a little concerned about something. So I've been reading that the risk for PID from infection reduces after the first few weeks after insertion, however, I think I may have developed BV after sex one week ago. I have an appointment this coming week with my doc to check, but I'm worried because if I developed BV within two weeks of insertion, does that increase my risk of PID? I was diagnosed with endometriosis a few years ago, so anything else that could possibly increase my chances of becoming infertile scares the hell out of me. Thank you.

New to Paragard

I just got my Paragard on Wednesday after being sick of hormones and chemicals and have been having a pretty rough week. Just wanted to make sure this stuff is normal.

The insertion was excruciatingly painful. I'm 26, never had a baby and the doctor didn't mention to take pain killers beforehand. So when they dilated me I was yelling in pain, especially when they placed the IUD in my uterus. I had terrible cramps and was in pain and crying all the way home. I took ibuprofen and laid down that night but was able to go to work the next day with regular doses of 800mg ibuprofen. I would have a lot of pain each time it wore off.

Did i mention I was on my period? I was two days on my (light) period when I had my Paragard inserted.

Since Wednesday I've had horrible cramps all the way into my thighs. The pain subsided after a couple days but every now and then I'll have a sharp pain here or there. If i lay on my left side I feel a sharp pain in my belly and I'm not sure if it's an ovary (I used to get cysts before hormonal BC). Hoping the IUD isn't poking around in there.

The bleeding has been awful. Very heavy.

Now, I've been on BC pretty consistently since I was 14 (my mom put me on it because of acne) so I've always had short light periods. I'm not sure if I'm just not used to having heavy cramping and bleeding or if this is just how getting Paragard is.

I tried to feel for the strings. I think I felt them but stuff is pretty messy up there right now. I go in to the doctor in 5 weeks to have a follow up.
