Got my Skyla yesterday

All in all, it wasn't terrible. I wish I could remember my Mirena insertion (3 years ago) in more detail to say which was easier or harder. I want to say with that one it was more than mild cramping after the fact. I only had a 10 minute drive then, and I remember feeling every single bump in the road *so* bad.

I'm really glad I chose the Skyla. Yeah okay it hurt, but I don't have to think of taking a pill for three full years! Can't wait till I'm fully recovered to so I can begin to enjoy the benefits ;)

insertion didn't work... 2nd try?

Hi all, I am 21, healthy, never pregnant, and I went today to have my paraguard inserted. I was soo excited to get away from hormones...they make my emotions a wreck. During the insertion, the doc had trouble getting it in. He told me we might have better luck if I return as soon as I start my period and after leaving the cytotec in for a longer period of time. Anyways, the insertion was very painful. Much more than I was expecting. I had to go by myself because my SO was at work and I really didn't think it would be a big deal to go alone. Has anyone else had better luck getting it inserted the second time (or when you were on your period?) Next time I am definitely bringing my fiance and taking a higher dosage of NSAIDs before going. I really, really want this to work out. I also wonder if the fact that I was so tense today made it harder to put in...the uterus does have a middle layer of just muscle. I came home, started researching this problem, and immediately joined this community to try to figure out if this will ever work or not. Please tell me about your multiple insertion experience!
