4 Day Old Diva

Hello everyone!

I became a diva on Tuesday, and I'm pretty thrilled about most of my experience. I really want to thank you for all of the advice and information. It helped me stand my ground during my consultation, as well as not freak out when something happens. Some of this is TMI, but I felt like I should share it with all of you.

Also a question:

Is your uterus off to one side? I might be crazy, but it felt like my opening was slightly to my left. It's also the side that I've had some dull aching on (but I'm also only 4 days out, so I'm not too worried).

How Long can I expect back aches from Mirena insertion?

I have had my Mirena for 8 days now. My insertion was fairly easy and I felt almost no cramps or pain immediately afterwards. Yesterday, however (1 week after insertion), I started feeling what I can only describe as backaches. They are not sharp pains, but slow aches in my lower back (in the tailbone region). It's especially pronounced when I stand. My doctor instructed me to expect some cramps, but these aren't - they're dull aches. Has anybody else had this? Is it normal? Are there ways to deal with these aches? I have checked my strings and they are still there, so I don't believe the Mirena is expelling or puncturing the uterus, but this concerns me. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
