This is going to be my second period since my Paragard insertion in early March and I'm wondering if my periods are always going to be this weird in the beginning or if this confusion I'm having is normal...
While running yesterday (of course in white shorts too...) I felt that I definitely got my period once I just started. I went back home and turns out I did, so got a tampon, and went back out.
The whole rest of the day and this morning there's no blood at all.
I'm confused if this is the start of my period since according to my tracker app because it's supposed to start tomorrow, or this is just nothing. & Haven't had much cramping at all.

Anyone else with Paragard ever had this issues?
Super confused if it started or not or when it well ahh.

YESSSSS. And also Ughhhh. Hi, I feel we are pretty similair - just got my old Paragard buddy about 2 and a half months ago. The first real non HBC period I had was very strange, "phantom" period. I like gettting my period (I'm a paranoid weirdo but I like knowing I'm not pregnant, and everything's working etc.) and so I was relieved to get the start of my period. Which it was. It was just shy. Must have started and stopped completely like 5 times in two days! Way to mess with a girl's already fragile emotions! The worst part is I keep wasting tampons when there's nothing going on up there. It's leveling out though. On my next period now and there's less weirdness. My flow used to always have a definite beginning middle and end and now it's all over the place. Just the joys of Paragard and learning what your body naturally does. It gets better :)

Period begins officially when you see blood if it helps. Just harder for me to figure out spotting vs real flow. But Vitamin E seemed to help - no spotting just the start of my period no question there!

Glad I'm not alone! My periods are polar opposite of how they used to be....how I wish my uterus could just go back to how it was!

Yep. But in all fairness, it did that before I ever got my paragard. A friend of mine (who doesn't have an IUD) has the same issue and she's convinced it's part of aging.

The first few month with my Paragard my periods were all sorts of weird. I did have a cycle where I was due to start, thought I'd started, but it turned out to be spotting and I didn't start for another week.

Thus far (5 months) my Paraguard periods begin and sometimes end with a day or so of spotting, where there's sometimes bleeding and sometimes not. It's like I get a pre/post-period, with my real period in the middle (I did not spot previously). So it's not just you! :)

Now that you mention it, yes! It's usually just some spotting for a day (heavy enough to need a panty liner or light tampon), then nothing for a day or two, then it begins. Back when I used a Diva I wouldn't have minded so much, but I have had some minor incidents resulting in stained panties over the last two years with the Paragard. I do track my period with an app so I'm not usually too surprised these days, but I tend to not count the spotty day as the beginning of my cycle.

I know you specifically said anyone with a Paraguard have this issue and whilst I don't anymore with my copper iud when I was on hormonal bc (Implanon and mini pill) the stopping and starting happened ALOT! 2 days on 2 days off, 5 days off and 3 days on etc etc and no spotting on the off days, nothing! It was like a tap being turned on and off! Like I said I have no explanations or anything just wanted to second how odd and confusing it was!
