Expelling?

Hello all

I've had my paragard since this last May, so about 7 months now. I've had minimal issues with it and have been generally very pleased with it.
About 2 weeks ago I moved up to live with my boyfriend, first time to use my IUD since I got it. I had no issues sexually with it, but now that we've stopped having sex for about 2 or 3 nights (flu), I've been having the worst cramps I've ever experienced with the device. Which brings me to my question. This morning, I got up to use the bathroom and after I was done urinating, I was feeling a bit of pain. So I checked my strings and they're just as long as they were before, but my cervix is ROCK solid.
Could this be the IUD sitting in my cervix? I don't have medical insurance and I'd rather figure out what you all have to say before I go and get it checked out unnecessarily.
